Description

Amusing as they are, the "Funny Papers" are serious business. Here we have a collection from the files of the Veterans Administration, with well-intended artwork contributions to the cause, and also some signed correspondence. Dating from the 1970s-1980s, this collection demonstrates the thoughtfulness of those who made their living by creating newspaper comic strips, with cartoons created for VA promotion/advertising. All are well known artists, and the familiar characters were widely followed across the land. Generally, both the letters and art panels are in crisp condition, with light to moderate wear. The art panels range from 8-1/2 x 11", down to 7x6, and the signatures average ("8-9") strength. No authentication due to time/cost constraints.
