One of the great teams in NFL history is recalled, with this 1984-1985 Chicago Bears team-signed football. Head coach Mike Ditka was triply blessed, with Hall of Fame running back Walter Payton, gusty quarterback Jim McMahon and Buddy Ryan and his band of marauders known as the "46 Defense". Though this rugged squad was stopped by the San Francisco 49ers in the 1984 NFL Championship Game, they regrouped in 1985 to clobber the New England Patriots in Super Bowl XX. This Wilson Official NFL ball is decorated across the three white panels with (52) autographs, that range ("7" to "9") in potency. Though the ball's white panels have multiple cracks, they are fairly unobtrusive to display and otherwise the ball is pleasing with a nice shape. Comes with full photo LOA from JSA, and an added sticker on the ball's brown panel for the Ditka autograph, which is not noted on the LOA.
Notable signers are:
Top white panel: Wilson, Thomas, Duerson, Cabral, Gault, Covert, McKinnon, Anderson, Ortego, Moorehead, Maness, Sanders;
Middle white panel: Ditka (HOF), Payton (HOF), Baschnagel, Hartenstine, Margeron, Singletary (HOF), Dent (HOF), Van Horne, Keys, Gayle, McMichael, Waechter, Dunsmore;
Bottom white panel: Hampton (HOF), McMahon, Suhey, Perry, Tomczak, Wrightman and Taylor.
