Signs of changing times are found in this 1900s-1960s political ephemera collection. Consisting mostly of presidential campaign materials, this nicely preserved assortment also contains convention related materials and assorted propaganda materials, including a couple of late '60s counterculture examples of psychedelic design. A large portion of this collection is related to Lyndon B. Johnson, and the balance includes John F. Kennedy, Martin Luther King, Franklin D. Roosevelt, Hubert H. Humphrey and Prince Henry of Prussia. Condition ranges (70% EX to NM-MT, 30% GD to VG-EX), with deference to folds on the posters.

Featured are:

1902 Prince Henry of Prussia visit related items (3): 5x12 silk with portrait image of his royal highness and the Waldorf-Astoria dinner menu for the press dated 2/26/1902, very pleasing despite a couple of folds; 5x7 Waldorf-Astoria dinner announcement card in vibrant and solid state, dated 2/26/1902; and 5x8 Pennsylvania Railroad dinner menu card with embossed Prussia seal at top left, clean and solid, dated 3/3/1902. 

1920s-1960s Decals/bumper stickers (): Franklin D. Roosevelt/John N. Garner "Our Heroes of Democaracy" shields (6); John F. Kennedy shields/rectangles (4); Al Smith oval (1); Ted Kennedy circles (3); Richard Nixon rectangles (9); miscellaneous (26) with Hugo Black, John Kerry, Al Gore, Robert Taft, Eugene McGovern and others. 

c.1928-1932 I'm for Hoover advertising cards (2) including one with writing at bottom.

1940 Pennsylvania Railroad Wendell Willkie speech breakfast menu framed to 10x13. 

1942 Office of war information 28x40 United Nations Fight for Freedom poster featuring flags of various nations. 

c.1940s "You Can't Run the Old Cow Ragged" 15-1/2 x 19-1/2" Industry poster.

1960s 11x14 Photos (6) with: Lyndon B. Johnson (3); and Hubert H. Humphrey (3).

1964 LBJ for the USA 28x40 poster. While various materials with this slogan are found in this collection, this largest size poster is relatively scarce, and with deference to the original period folds, this crisp, clean and vibrant example is outstanding, with just minor wear.

1964 Johnson/Humphrey for the USA 20x28 poster, also a very pleasing example, with original period folds. 

1964 LBJ for the USA 13x20 posters (9), all clean, crisp and vibrant, with original period folds. 

1964 LBJ for the USA 20x30 plastic posters (2), labeled as ""Banner Brites" A Milton Story Creation" at the bottom left corner, both clean and vibrant, with original period folds. 

1964 LBJ for the USA assorted materials: bumper stickers (4); "Demo-Caps" plastic hat (1); shield shaped decals (2) including one (VG) due to a small section of obverse color loss; postcards (15); stamps (300+) in strips of 5 to 20, with a very few in lesser state.

1964 Illinois Rally for Civil Rights 5-1/2 x 8-1/2" flyers with Martin Luther King photo (28), these look to be fairly scarce and they are historically significant as they were for a an event that took place on 6/21/64, just two days after the Senate passed the Civil Rights Act of 1964, and less than two weeks before it was enacted on 7/2/64.

1968 Counterculture 23x30 poster for the DNC at the International Amphitheatre in Chicago. The reverse is printed with a variety of information, including a section titled "What To Do In Case of Arrest". 

1960s Eugene McCarthy triangular plastic lawn signs (2). 

1960s Come Cean for Gene medicine bottle (Eugene McCarthy promo). 

1960s The Chicago Seed underground newspaper with "Arms & The Man" front page article, and some great music performer ads, including Bob Dylan, Jeff Beck and Country Joe and The Fish. 

Also present is a small assortment of political and other items, including: 1928 Wild West Show calendar card; postcards (4); Chicago DNC matchbook; 1948 Minnesota football schedule; 1948 Minnesota football ticket flyer; 1948 Minnesota football ticket order forms (5); 1950s World sport Champions Elect Eisenhower and Nixon brochure; 1966-67 Southern Churman program; 1960s Citizens for Humphrey brochure; 1960s anti-Viet Nam War flyer; 1960s Students for a Democratic Society brochures (2); and 1978 Congressman Rodino pocket calendar card.
