Widely believed to have been a midway prize at traveling carnivals, this caricature depiction of the Bambino (with clown-size feet!) stands 14" tall and is made of a light composite material. Interestingly, unlike many of its contemporary figurines that sidestepped copyright issues with anonymous Ruth-
esque likenesses, there's no debate here as the chest proudly proclaims, "BABE RUTH." That all-important lettering and the face are among the best-preserved features, while the rest generally average about FR condition overall due to surface cracking, chipping and, on the right foot, a separation. The thin wooden bat remains nailed in place. An important artifact of folk-art Ruthiana.
