Offered is a quartet of Cal Ripken Jr. rookie cards that are found on uncut sheets. These relics have incredible eye appeal and picture the early “Iron Man” at his very best. Included are 1.) 1982 Topps Traded complete set on a single uncut sheet. Measuring approximately 28-1/2 x 43”, this scarce sheet is in (EX) condition with negligible corner and edge wear along with multiple light surface creases. None of those blemishes impact the #98T Cal Ripken rookie, or that of #109T Ozzie Smith, the other key card on the sheet; 2.) 1982 Topps uncut sheet. This printing press survivor also measures approximately 28-1/2 x 43”. The sheet grades an impressive (NM) and is void of any creases or significant corner or edge wear. The #21 Cal Ripken appears at the bottom of the sheet, but is front and center in eye appeal; 3.) 1982 Donruss uncut sheet. This specimen is similar in dimensions with its Topps counterparts. The sheet grades (EX-MT) with a mostly crease-free appearance and is relatively free of serious edge or corner wear. The #405 Ripken rookie is at the top of the sheet (making off-centered copies all too common) and is joined by the likes of Ryan and Schmidt; 4.) 1982 Fleer proof uncut half sheet. This piece measures 23x29, is dated 10/30/81, and is notated as a “proof” by the Philadelphia confectioner. The crease-free blank backed artifact grades (EX-MT) as the Hall of Fame Ripken is joined by fellow inductee Eddie Murray and future member Rickey Henderson.
