Offered are two stellar display pieces likely missing from even the most prestigious of Yankees collections. The first half of this lot is a dated 1926 American League player-contract signed by Albany prospect and future Major Leaguer James Wiltse (d.1983, "9") as well as Albany President M. J. Hawkins ("8"); the contract measures 8-1/2 x 14 and grades (EX-MT). More importantly, the contract also bears a signature reading Jacob Ruppert, who owned the Yankees during this time, which, as determined by JSA, was signed by Hall of Fame executive Ed Barrow (d.1953, "9"). The second part of the lot features an amazing Budig OAL signed by the current Boss, who has produced ten division titles and six World Series championships during his tenure. The perfect ball grades a ("10") and has been beautifully penned by Steinbrenner on the sweet spot with a signature that rates a ("9"). A unique front office lot waiting to adorn that pinstriped collection. COA from James Spence Authentications.
