All of the items relate to the career of “Boom Boom” Beck and include a Warren Giles ONL Spalding baseball in the original (NM-MT), 1956 All-Star Game press pin (NM), Babe Ruth miniature bat (NM-MT), 1950 St Petersburg miniature bat (NM), 1966 Atlanta Braves pin (NM), (4) 1960s Braves uniform patches, (2) 1966 Braves stickers, 1915 Sears Roebuck Baseball Uniform catalog (PR, with newspaper clippings glue onto the interior pages), 1933 and 1934 Brooklyn Dodgers Spring Training pamphlets (both VG-EX), 1937 PCL pocket schedule (FR), 1940 Phillies Spring Training pamphlet (VG), 1941 Phillies Spring Training pamphlet (NM), 1942 Phillies Spring Training pamphlet (EX-MT), 1944 Tigers Spring Training pamphlet (EX-MT), 1945 Reds Spring Training pamphlet (NM), 1940 Grantland Rice’s ”How to Win Against Odds” (NM, with scores of player photos), 1945 National League wall schedule (VG-EX) and (3) Dodgers Alumni News letters (1984-85). Walter Beck had a long and distinguished career, and these items help chronicle his trip through the majors and minors.
