Description

Two years before the Minneapolis-based Wheaties issued baseball cards and premiums on the boxes of their cereal products, the food company produced a trial series for the hometown Millers. This group of (9) 1933 Wheaties Minneapolis Millers cards is highlighted by the inclusion of the “Babe Ruth” of minor league baseball in the person of Joe Hauser. These sepia-toned, postcard-size types are accentuated by clean backs and vivid action poses. Included are Glenn (GD, pinhole), Hauser (EX), Hilcher (EX/EX-MT), Holland (VG-EX), Holsclaw (VG-EX), Murray (VG-EX), Norris (VG-EX), Ruble (EX) and VanDenburg (VG-EX).
