Prohibition forced many of the majority breweries in America to produce something other than beer to stay in business. Like many of these malt beverage companies, the Yuengling Lager Company of Pottsville, PA switched product lines and began making ice cream. Presented is a high-grade example of the Lou Gehrig card from that set. This 1928 Yuengling’s Ice Cream #26 Lou Gehrig has been reviewed by PSA and deemed a stellar NM 7. The card is in tremendous condition and is well centered with sharp edges and corners. As one of the earliest cardboard relics produced of the “Iron Horse”, this card is one of four examples graded at this tier with only two grading higher.
