Presented is an exceedingly scarce 1944 Havana team-signed baseball with (22) signatures including Hall of Famers Martin Dihigo and Manuel “Cocaina” Garcia. These signatures are penned on a moderately discolored and blemished Official League baseball in blue ink. The majority of these pennings grade in the (“6-7”) range. Club Habana has a storied history and from 1878-1960 won thirty Cuban Professional League titles. The jewel of this 1944 ball comes on the east panel with the etchings of Martin Dihigo (d.1971) and Manuel “Cocaina” Garcia (d.1995). The etching for the versatile Dihigo grade (“6”) while Cuban Hall of Famer Garcia also grades (“6”) with an additional “Cocaina” inscription. Also included are signatures of Cuban Hall of Famer Roberto Estabella (d.1991, “7”, sweet spot) and stars Lloyd Davenport (“6”, west panel) and Julio Rojo (“8”, north panel). Other names such as Fernandez, Gonzalez, Hernandez, Linares, Navarro and Ruiz are also present. The signatures on this baseball come with a COA from James Spence Authentications.
