The American President and baseball have been closely linked since the early years of the 20th Century when William Howard Taft stood up to stretch his legs during the middle of the 7th inning thus creating the 7th-inning stretch. Collecting Presidential baseballs is all the rage with Dwight David Eisenhower resting at or near the top. Presented is a beautifully signed OAL Harridge baseball featuring the moniker of the 34th President of the United States. The signature was scripted in blue ink and resides on the side panel to the left of the sweet spot. The blue ink has been slightly absorbed and displays a pink hue as well as the blue ink, grading an (“8”) in strength and (“6”) in clarity. The vintage Reach OAL William Harridge baseball has a thin layer of shellac and displays mild toning with an overall grade of (“7”). The baseball also features a secondary blue ink inscription ”Griffith Stadium, 1959” on the south panel dating the ball. As an added bonus, the original Reach baseball box is in (NM) condition with President Dwight Eisenhower, Griffith Stadium, 1959 neatly scrolled on the side panel. This Dwight D. Eisenhower (d.1969) single-signed baseball is a monumental relic that has endured time and circumstance with presidential appeal. COA from James Spence Authentications.
