Rarity, desirability and fascination are words used to describe the extremely rare E107 Breisch Williams baseball card series issued in 1903. Examples of these cards are expectedly absent from most card conventions and auctions because collectors rarely allow exemplars to come to market. As the first of its kind in the 20th Century, this E-card features the photographic image of Ed Delahanty. Graded 10 Poor 10 by SGC because of a small tear along the upper border and mild blemishes on the front surface, this Type 1 card still offers an overall attractive appearance with a clean reverse. A mysterious figure even to his teammates, Delahanty died suddenly and under suspicious circumstances at Niagara Falls in the middle of the 1903 season. Because of his early demise, few period collectibles exist for this Hall of Famer, making this exceptional E107 Breisch Williams Type 1 even more coveted. Given the high level of scrutiny for a card of this magnitude, the trusted third party grading service aired on the side of caution, as this exemplar has a better appearance than the technical grade.
