Description

Presented is a rare autographed yellow Hall of Fame plaque card for Charles Leo “Gabby” Hartnett. In one of the many numerical ironies in baseball, Hartnett is the only HOFer to be born and die on the same date. Hartnett (d.1972) was the mainstay for the Chicago Cubs for nearly all of the 1920s and 1930s and was consistently one of the better hitters in the league despite being a catcher. The card is signed along the upper left portion of the card, and the signature grades a solid (“9”). The card has been deemed authentic by JSA and encapsulated by SGC (“A”). The postcard itself is in excellent condition with a bright obverse and clean reverse.
