If a Super Bowl victory is the crowning achievement of an NFL player's career, then a Super Bowl ring must be the most treasured and revered piece from the few who have celebrated such a feat. Offered is just that, the original 1987 Super Bowl XXII Championship ring presented to University of North Carolina standout and Washington Redskins defensive back Tim Morrison. Produced by Tiffany & Co. from a fine yellow 10K gold, the ever-elusive ring reads Washington Redskins World Champions 1987 on the head, with Morrison and 41 on the east portion and Hail to the Redskins, Super Bowl XXII, 42-10 on the west portion. The head of the ring displays beautifully, with a diamond-paved football and a pair of diamond-paved Lombardi Trophies that never cease to sparkle. The captivating, neck-turning ring features (42) round, brilliant cut diamonds, with two larger diamonds in the center of the football (4.3mm each) and (40) round, brilliant cut diamonds positioned along the edge of the football and on the trophies. Additionally the ring boasts (30) dark red garnets lining the outer edge of the football while an etched Redskins helmet and Super Bowl logo dress the east and west portions respectively. Combining for a total diamond weight of 1.25 carats and a total finished weight of 47.6 grams, this artifact is in superb condition, displaying only the slightest touch of tarnish. With no missing stones, obtrusive scratches or other significant imperfections, this one-of-a-kind ring will be the cornerstone to any collection. Super Bowl rings are seldom seen, and any die-hard Redskins enthusiast will relish the opportunity to own this piece of 'Skins history.
