A popular newspaper comic strip in the late 19th Century, the Yellow Kid was used as an advertising device for High Admiral Cigarettes. The offered eight pins feature the comical antics of the Yellow Kid and include #6 (VG-EX), #7 (VG-EX), #8 (FR, celluloid cracking), #11 (VG-EX), #15 (GD, celluloid cracking), #20 (EX), #34 (GD/VG, toned) and #36 (VG, mild toning). The buttons measure 1.25" diameter with mild oxidation on the metal rims and reverses. Five of the pins have the scarcer closed back reverse, while two of the three open backs have their original advertising inserts.
