From 1920-1960 legions of gifted African-American ballplayers graced the diamonds of the Negro Leagues. There is little doubt that many of these exceptional talents would have went on to Hall of Fame Big League careers, if only they were given a chance. These (8) signed Negro League pieces project some of the greatest names from that era. “Cool Papa” Bell, “Double Duty” Radcliff, Judy Johnson and Larry Doby are but a few of the players who have endorsed these items. Each signature is signed in blue or black ink and displays extremely well. Included are Multi-Signed Baseball Bat: (Rawlings Adirondack Big Stick Blue-Band, 32oz./34”, 9 signatures, black ink) Dennis Biddle (“10”), Sherwood Brewer (d.2003, “9”), W. James Collin (“9”), Jimmy Dean (“9”), Carl Long (“10”), Ira McKnight (“9”), John “Mule” Miles (“9”), Bobby Robinson (d.2002, “10”), Ted “Double Duty” Radcliff (d.2005, “9”); Single-Signed Baseballs: “Cool Papa” Bell (d.1991, “10”, Official Little League ball), Lou Dials (“7”, ONL, ball “6”), Larry Doby (d.2003, “10”, OAL), Judy Johnson (d.1989, “9”, ONL); Framed Autographed Photos: “Cool Papa” Bell 7-1/4 x 9-1/4” (“10”), “Cool Papa” Bell 13-1/2 x 16-1/2” (“10”) and “Double Duty” Radcliff 6-1/2 x 8-1/2” (“9”, Double Duty inscription).
