Starting in 1940 with the Chicago Chapter of the Baseball Writers Association of America, top-flight young talent has been annually awarded the “Rookie of the Year”. A powerful start to a blossoming career, many who earned such freshman honors have gone on to Hall of Fame careers. This group of (25) single-signed baseballs features those who have won their respective leagues “Rookie of the Year” award. Unless noted, each ball is signed on the sweet spot in blue or black ink on OAL or ONL baseballs. Many of the signatories have added interesting notations regarding their first seasons.
