If Babe Ruth collectibles are paramount in the hobby, then items picturing The Sultan of Swat as a Boston Red Sox hurler are amongst the most elusive and desirable items available. The presented scorecard is just that, featuring a crisp, clear image of a then 21-year old Ruth among his Boston contemporaries. The scorecard measures 14x5-1/2” and remains unfolded and unscored. The scorecard side is marked as American League and World’s Champions 1915 and features sixteen 1915 Red Sox portraits, including those of Hooper, Pennock, Speaker and, of course, Ruth. The reverse features sixteen portraits of the National League Champions 1915 Philadelphia Phillies, including Alexander, Bancroft and Rixey. The reverse also features a Fair and Square suit advertisement with a crisp image of the legendary Walter Johnson. Despite a few small edge tears, evident corner wear and a trio of small hinges on the bottom edge of the reverse, the surface has survived surprisingly well, displaying no stains or brittleness. A truly unique collectible with ample Hall of Famers and a young Ruth as a Bostonian simply waiting to be proudly displayed.
