From 1941-1990 Ring magazine editors Nate Fleischer, Stanley Weston and others issued an annual encyclopedia to inform boxing devotees on the past, present and future of their sport. The exhaustive works included hundreds of pages of detailed biographies, photographs, round by round fight details and the contenders in each weight division. These coveted and scarce hard-backed editions remain mainstays in sports libraries of many pugilist fans. This run of (44) 1943-1986 Ring Boxing Encyclopedias is mostly in (EX) condition. Missing only the 1965 edition to complete the run, these volumes make up for that with a duplicate 1960 book. Included are 1940s: 1943 (VG-EX), 1944 (VG-EX), 1945 (EX), 1946 (VG), 1947 (GD), 1948 (EX), 1949 (VG-EX); 1950s: 1950 (GD), 1951 (VG-EX), 1952 (VG), 1953 (VG), 1954 (VG), 1955 (GD), 1956 (VG-EX), 1957 (VG), 1958 (VG), 1959 (VG); 1960s: (10 guides, missing 1965, with two 1960, average VG-EX); 1970s: (10 guides, 7 with dust jackets, average EX, with VG covers) and 1980s: (7 guides, 6 with dusk jackets, average EX with VG-EX covers). The lionís share of these encyclopedias have crisp inner pages, tight binding, and appear to have been unaffected by the decades. Only a handful of volumes have been minimally affected by water damage or other staining which is reflected in their respective grades. With greats like Muhammad Ali, Joe Louis, Floyd Patterson, Joe Louis and other greats documented, this assembly is a treasure trove of information. Due to the size/volume of this gathering, shipping may be substantial.
