The artwork of George Wright has always been a collectors dream, as the intensity of the player can be seen in the eyes of his subjects. Presented is an original oil painting of the members of the 500 Homerun Club, as it stood at the end of the 1996 season. The painting was commissioned by a fan of Eddie Murray, who is the focal point of the artwork. This masterpiece includes the then fifteen members of the 500 Home Run Club and was signed by all eleven that were alive. The signatories include Aaron, Williams (d.2002), Schmidt, Mays, Killebrew, Robinson, Jackson, Mathews (d.2001), McCovey, Banks and Murray. Nine of the eleven players added their homerun totals beneath their script; only Aaron and Murray did not add their homerun totals. The painting itself is truly a masterpiece of contrast and color. The images of the players are well defined and crisp. The painting has been signed by George Wright in the lower right corner. The painting measures 28x22 with the framed dimensions are 32x26 overall. Artwork by Wright of this caliber easily brings five figures, and the included signatures make this piece unique one-of-a-kind treasure.
