Pre-War star Tully "Topsy" Hartsel is the focus of this pair of type cards from the 1909 E92 Croft's Candy series and the 1910 E105 Mello-Mint edition. Both images depict the jovial Philadelphian flying around basepaths in a period uniform and pink sleeves. The 1909 E92 Croft's Candy grades (FR-GD) with a minor surface crease and very slight paper addition on the pronounced advertising back. The 1910 E105 Mello-Mint series was produced slightly smaller than the standard caramel cards and this paper-thin card grades (FR) with edge and corner notching along with two small circular spots of paper loss on the otherwise beautiful reverse. An attractive pairing of tougher-to-find "E" cards of this early left fielder.
