The only major issue from the “roaring nineties”, Washington third-sacker Bill Joyce graces this 1895 N300 Mayo’s Cut Plug. This crease-free example has been judged a "5" by PSA and is degraded only by typical corner and edge wear along with being moderately off-centered. The pitch black back is attractive and clean while the black and white portrait pose is poignant and concise. With only six Joyce examples graded by PSA, this specimen is bested by only one other. Before Baker and Ruth, “Scrappy Bill” was the leading home run slugger toward the end of the nineteenth century. Exhibiting a remarkable eye-appeal, this card is a collection centerpiece waiting to happen.
