Measuring 2-1/2x4-1/2” the 1914 T222 Fatima series is one of a few oversized "T" series releases. These difficult sepia-toned beauties were printed on a wafer-thin photographic stock, making them susceptible to cracking. Although this George McBride reveals the technical flaws associated with an off-grade example, the intense clarity portrayed on this image shines. McBride was the quintessential slap hitter and appears intent on nicking a safety to the opposite field. With a moderately toned reverse including some browning along the edges, this difficult Liggett & Myers piece proves to be a quality addition.
