Securing common 1910 E104 Nadja Caramels examples is difficult enough; however, locating a blank-backed card of a Hall of Famer escalates that task to a new level. The featured 1910 Nadja Caramels E104 Type 1 of Chief Bender is such a specimen. Judged as a "20" by SGC, this lower-grade exemplar reveals wear associated with the technical grade but is still quite presentable. Detracted by a heavy surface crease along the bottom of the card, there is a further instance of an edge wrinkle on the front and album residue on the reverse. However, despite those flaws, this card is accentuated by a bold blue type-facing, and a portrait pose which served as the impetus for other editions. Of the eighteen cards in this series, which depict only members from the triumphant 1910 Philadelphia Athletics squad, Bender is one of five Hall of Famers. Enshrined at Cooperstown in 1954, this lot presents an excellent opportunity to obtain a key card from one of the most difficult of all caramel designations.
