The 1939 season marked one of only two years that the Albany Senators of the Eastern League were affiliated with the Cincinnati Reds. With five major leaguers, including the legendary Rabbit Maranville (d.1954) on the team, offered is a 1939 Albany Senators signed baseball with (20) signatures. Penned on an Official Eastern League baseball, the majority of signatures grade in the (“7-8”) range. Other than the Hall of Famer Maranville, (“8”) who skippered the team, the other four major leaguers are deceased and had the proverbial “cup of coffee” in the big leagues. A difficult minor league piece, this item comes with a COA from James Spence Authentications. For a complete list of major league signatures, please visit our website.

Major Leaguers on Ball: Chozen (d.1994, west panel, “8”), Maranville (d. 1954, north Panel, “8”), Preibisch (d.1980, west panel, “7”), Sodd (d.1998, north panel, “7”), Vitelli (d. 1967, north panel, “7”).
