"Float like a butterfly, sting like a bee" was the credo for boxing icon Muhammad Ali. Not only was the champ a purveyor of the "sweet science" in the ring, but before the ravages of Parkinson's, the multi-talented Ali crafted a series of themed artwork. Produced in 1982-1983, four of Ali's subjects were of a political nature, while the offered 20x24 signed and framed lithograph was the only depiction of his boxing career. From the landscape of Ali's imagination, the caption of "Ref, he did float like a butterfly and sting like a bee!" is present, while a spectator remarks "Yes, if you were smart you run like me!" Surrounding the victorious champ and the floored contender is a legion of multi-colored floating heads. A sprawling 7" long pencil endorsement is signed in pencil with the signature grading a ("10"). A COA for this piece comes from James Spence Authentication.
