Description

The sophomore edition of the 1953 Topps series was highlighted by an innovation called the "flexichrome" process. Developed by Kodak, this process allowed the artist to add vibrant colors to black and white photographs, thus producing a luminescent painting with the added dimension of incredible player detail. Because of this process, when high-grade specimens from the 1953 Topps are located, the images appear to "pop" from the card. This collection of (30) higher graded 1953 Topps PSA and GAI graded cards definitely fits the bill. Over half of this group has graded a "7" or higher, including five NM-MT 8 examples. Included are PSA 8: #6 Jones, #47 Church, #50 Dressen, #176 Hoak; GAI 8: #20 Thompson; PSA 7: #4 Wade, #57 Scheib, #73 E. Robinson, #84 Hooper, #99 Madison, #112 Garver, #122 Valo, #124 Sisti, #147 Spahn, #161 Bickford, #167 Schult, #169 Trout, #174 Loes, #233 Aber; PSA 6: #28 Pellagrini, #52 Gray, #70 Yuhas, #85 Morgan, #99 Madison, #112 Garver, #113 Priddy, #140 Glaviano, #159 Terwilliger, #236 Perkowski and #248 G. Stephens. A nice group of attractive cards from this condition sensitive set, with a few high series examples included.
